Apple is working on a new patent, Auto-Zooming Content. Currently user has to pinch to zoom the content. In future, user just needs to move his head closer to or further from device and the device will zoom the content automatically to the size that is suitable for viewing. The device makes use of sensor to detect the distance between the user and the device to decide how much to zoom.
There are two modes that users can set. The normal viewing mode and detail viewing mode. For normal viewing mode, when user head is close to the screen, the content will be zoomed out. The detail viewing mode works exactly oppositely against normal viewing mode. When the user head is close to the screen, the content will be zoomed in. This is to enable user to view the detail.
Let’s hope Apple has this feature built in the coming Ipad and Iphone soon.
